Twilight Princess

GGanondorf was banished to the Twilight Realm through the Mirror of Twilight in the Arbiter's Grounds. The Twilight Realm is home to the Twili, descendants of the Interlopers, the people banished there in the age before the Kingdom of Hyrule.

Long after that, Link works on a ranch in Ordon Village, on the edge of Hyrule. Monsters raid the village and carry off its children. When Link follows them he is pulled into a wall of twilight. Inside, Hyrule's people have become spirits and Princess Zelda has surrendered the kingdom to the usurper Zant. Link has turned into a wolf. He is helped by Midna, a Twili with her own reasons for fighting Zant.

Familiar places return in changed form: Kakariko Village, Lake Hylia, Zora's Domain, the Gorons of Death Mountain and the Sacred Grove, where the ruined Temple of Time still holds the Master Sword. A spirit called the Hero's Shade teaches Link sword skills. Hyrule Historia identifies him as the Hero of Time.

It follows Majora's Mask in the child timeline. Four Swords Adventures comes centuries later in the same branch.
