Adult Era
Spirit Tracks
2009 · Nintendo DS
The Spirit Tracks were laid down by the Lokomo to keep the Demon King Malladus sealed under the earth. A hundred years after New Hyrule's founding the tracks begin to vanish.
Link, a young train engineer, comes to Hyrule Castle to be named a royal engineer. Princess Zelda secretly asks for his help: she distrusts Chancellor Cole. On the way to the Tower of Spirits, Zelda's body is taken and only her spirit remains. She travels with Link as his partner. The Lokomo Anjean tells them what the tower and the tracks are for.
Zelda is Tetra's descendant. A stained-glass portrait of Tetra hangs in the castle. Niko, once of Tetra's crew, lives on as an old man in Link's village. Linebeck III, grandson of the Linebeck of Phantom Hourglass, runs a trading post. Spirit Tracks is the last game in the adult timeline.
